Designer of the Day

Coco Chanel: Rising to fame in Paris France in the 1920s her fashion themes included simple suits and dresses, women's trousers, costume jewelry, perfume and textiles. Being very popular with the stars her name soon became one of the leading brands in fashion. She changed womans fashion forever by replacing petticoats and corsets for pant suites and the well known little black dress. She worked until her death in 1971 at the age of 88. After her death Chanel’s couture house was led by a series of different designers. This situation stabilized in 1983, when Karl Lagerfeld became chief designer.

  1. I love this post! I think it's great you focused on featuring the LBD-it's so iconic in the fasion world. Karl has continued her legacy with brilliant collections, they are a true reflection of her work.
